Winter drain off menu.

This season we have a comprehensive list of services that we can offer you above and beyond our usual drain off service.
The analogy I always use when talking about a holiday home is to think of it like a car. Regular maintenance now will reduce any future chance of damage and of course worry.
Keeping on top of your holiday home's servicing is important to maintain a safe environment for you and your family.
We have some specially negotiated rates for you to consider and book which will help you identify what needs to be done to your caravan.

Water and Gas:
Non centrally heated holiday homes:

  • Standard drain off - £34.50
  • Drain off - including service of gas appliances and CORGI gas safety certificate - £100.00

For centrally heated holiday homes:

  • Drain off for central heating caravans - £49.00
  • Drain off for central heating caravans - including service of gas appliances and CORGI gas safety certificate £110.00

It is illegal to allow your caravan to be used by anybody if you do not have a valid CORGI gas certificate.

Electricity:

  • Electric circuit test - £30.00 - This test will highlight any faulty or dangerous wiring in your caravan. A holiday home can develop a fault over time due to the nature of its construction it is always prudent to perform this test which is why we do this when we sell a new or pre-owned holiday home. Another reason to perform this test is if you are prone to a bit of DIY and want to make sure you have not put yourself at risk!!!
  • Electric portable appliance test (Max of Ten items) - £18.00

These tests do not include the costs of any repairs (much like a car MOT test) by booking one of these services you agree to allow one of the contractors to contact you directly to explain what else is required to effect repairs and quote you. In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 you also agree for us to provide the engineer with your contact details - of course this will only happen if necessary in order to fix your holiday home. Your details will not be given out unless required and will only be used for this purpose and no other activity. This just helps us to implement the work and efficiently provide you with the best levels of service possible.

What to do next?

Please come to the reception where our lovely reception staff will be happy to book which ever service you require.
Here are some handy hints you need to be aware of prior to booking your drain off and of course leaving on the 31st of October:

PLEASE REMEMBER TO GIVE 7 DAYS NOTICE FOR YOUR RECONNECTION NEXT SEASON!

When you leave your holiday home for the season make sure you…

  1. Remove soft furnishings and curtains to protect from damp
  2. Stand seat cushions on end in the centre of the lounge to allow air to circulate around them
  3. Refrigerator: remove all food and food particles thoroughly ,and clean out
  4. Leave refrigerator door wedged open to avoid mould.
  5. Ensure all ventilation is not obstructed; leave wardrobe and interconnecting doors open to assist ventilation.
  6. Check all windows and skylights are tightly closed, if possible, secure them with cable ties or similar.
  7. Take all valuables and electrical items home!

A qualified engineer will perform the drain off for you at the end of the season and will reconnect you for the beginning of the next season!

Please ensure that a set of keys for your caravan and your gas bottles or box are left with reception! Without the keys we can not arrange the work.

I hope this information has been useful and will help you safeguard your holiday home against future winter damage such as leaking pipes and blown boilers. We look forward to helping you arrange this important work.
